About Longwake
A year-round way to find the AI safety people working on what you work on.
Why this exists
Conferences solve this for one weekend: everyone is on the same app, you filter by what people work on, and you book a call. Then the weekend ends and the directory disappears. Longwake is that directory, all year round.
The measure of success is conversations started: introductions accepted and calls booked, not sign-ups or page views.
How it works
Search people and organizations by research topic, by what they're open to, or by free text. Point at a name to preview a profile.
Every view can be copied or opened as Markdown, ready to hand to an AI agent, and the same data is available through a read-only API.
Contact happens off-site, the way each person chooses: email, Signal, or a booking link. There are no DMs and no feed. For public writing, use LessWrong and the Alignment Forum.
What we store
- Only the profiles people submit about themselves, after a manual review. Nobody is listed without opting in.
- No accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no message contents. The join form sends nothing to this site.
- Bulk exports and the list API leave out email addresses and Signal usernames.
- To change or remove your profile, use the link on your profile page or email submissions@longwake.org.
Coming later
A vetted, pseudonymous space for sharing drafts and capability-adjacent ideas, with no stored link between a pseudonym and a real identity. It opens only if the directory proves useful first.
